From the first dip of their toe, Turtle Tots is a magical journey between parent and child, developing water confidence, safety, and swimming skills through our unique and multi award-winning, child-led swimming programme.
Turtle Tots North London is run by Jenny Jenkins. Along with her team of world-class swimming teachers, they offer swimming lessons for babies, toddlers, 3 and 4 year olds from their lovely warm pool facilities in Winchmore Hill.
Our supportive and child-led swimming lessons offer a wonderful bonding experience, packed with songs and games to ensure that you and your little one enjoy your time in the pool together and develop a life-long love of the water. Our programme is taught by our fully qualified and highly skilled teachers who are trained to the highest possible standards. They have an in-depth understanding of early years communication and are attuned to your child’s needs to ensure that every skill is taught at a pace that is right for them.

Meet the North London Team

Jenny
Jenny has been running Turtle Tots North London since May 2016. She got inspired to become a baby swimming teacher after taking her son swimming from 12 weeks old. An opportunity to run her own Turtle Tots franchise presented itself when her daughter was a baby and it seemed too good an opportunity to not give a try so it all started in 2016. The scarcity of available pools in London led her to looking for somewhere to put in her own pool which has resulted in the Winchmore Hill pool opening in 2020. Now of course she’s so busy she doesn’t get to do the actual teaching that much any more but when she does get to jump in the pool it certainly remains the best part of the job!

Nicola
Nicola joined us in 2018 and thanks to our pool opening in 2020 has taught hundreds of babies, toddlers and preschoolers. It was a big change from her previous life as an account manager for a design agency but hasn’t looked back.
Nic is as trained as you can get do be a baby swimming teacher having completed her STA Level 3 Diploma in Aquatic Teaching. -
Becky
Becky joined us when the pool opened in 2020. Both her children swim with us so she gets to come to the pool a lot! Becky first joined as a receptionist when the pool opened but her teaching potential was soon spotted so we were delighted when she completed her training and start her own classes.

Shannon
One day in early 2022 Shannon was staring at her laptop wondering what job she might want now that her youngest was 2 and she had a ‘bit more time’ on her hands. At that moment, up pops the email from me looking for a new teacher and the rest is history. It was totally meant to be so now she gets to come with her youngest son for his lesson but also teach other children as well. Shannon graduated from the Turtle Tots training school top of her class and quickly became a valuable team member.

I take my three year old granddaughter every Monday. I am really happy with the team. The teaching staff are brilliant and make it lots of fun.

My daughter started swimming at Turtle Tots at the age of 5 months until she started school and we have loved our lessons together. It has been a lovely activity to do together and my daughter is now very confident in the water.

Turtle tots do an incredible job teaching babies to toddlers. The swimming instructors are very caring and friendly. I have taken my grandaughter and grandson and both always look forward to the lessons and that tells me a lot. I would thorougly recommend them.

We joined Turtle Tots when my son turned 6 months. Both the instructors we had for the lessons were friendly, very patient and made the sessions fun. The changing rooms are big enough for the small groups and the pool is clean and warm. My son enjoyed his lessons there and we’re planning to return very soon.

A lovely warm pool at Turtle Tots, with a lovely range of toys to keep the children engaged. Jenny and her team always do their best to accommodate our requests. The swimming teachers (tried all 3) are amazing with my son and always adapt to the needs and progress of each child. They also offer make up sessions too which are fantastic and unique! My son started swimming not too long ago, he is 3years old. He is usually a very shy and reserved child and doesn’t usually warm to people fast neither, but coming swimming lessons I didn’t think he would love it as much as he does, iv never seen my son concentrate as much as he does and wants to do everything that’s asked to do, he absolutely loves swimming.

My daughter loves her lessons. We will be swimming with turtle tots for a long time to come. The place always looks great. Great decor. The teachers are fab and so enthusiastic. My daughter had gotten really confident with trying to swim. Communication both in lessons and regarding lessons, dates and payments is always helpful and clear. Really happy. Would highly recommend
